Every time a client entrusts me with voicing their project, it is an enormous honour in which I take great pride and joy. However, every so often a voiceover job brings with it additional warm and fuzzies.
A project I have been working on over the past month is exactly one of these.
I am delighted to have been chosen to be the voice of Speech Frog.
Speech Frog is a software platform which supports speech pathologists in the excellent work they do to help children overcome speech and language disorders.
Do you remember as a kid when you were supposed to practice the piano/ribbon twirling/ tuba/ tap dancing/ recorder every day? But you didn’t practice every day, so you never did achieve stellar results (actually does anybody ever sound stellar on a recorder?)
Basically, better practice leads to better results is the thinking behind Speech Frog. Whilst in a perfect world, it would be tremendous if kids could see their speech pathologist every single day, real life has other plans, therefore if you can make speech therapy home practice more fun, the more it gets done!
Speech Frog is an innovative tool that connects speech pathologists and their clients between sessions. And that leads to better results, and of course better long-term outcomes for kids.
My (small) part of this was to voice many specific words in a very exact style and pace, then format each word into its own individual file for the clever Speech Frog folk to embed into the platform to make speech therapy home practice more effective and fun.
Search for Speech Frog if you know a little person who might benefit, or if you are a speech pathologist wanting something exciting to add to your toolbelt. They even offer a free trial.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I haven’t practiced the violin for about 30 years so I may be a little rusty. Lucky I’ve got a sound proof studio, huh?
